Terms of use

These terms apply to the Winters Puzzles plugin in ChatGPT and its temporary puzzle service. The plugin is provided by Winters Puzzles. OpenAI provides ChatGPT under its own terms and account requirements; these terms do not replace them or the terms of the iPhone and iPad app.
Using the puzzle service
Use the plugin to play its supported games, create custom puzzles and request help with your current board. Use ChatGPT only if you meet OpenAI’s account and age requirements, and follow the rules of the platform or workspace through which you access the plugin. The plugin is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13.
Custom content and fair use
Supply content you have the right to use. You retain any rights you have in the words, names, stories and other material you provide. Asking us to create or play a puzzle allows us to process and temporarily store the content needed to fulfil that request, as described in our privacy policy.
Do not submit passwords, payment details, government identifiers or private health information. Do not use the service to harass others, infringe their rights, send unlawful content, bypass access controls or interfere with other players. Do not use automated requests to overload the service. Use fictional names when a puzzle does not need real personal information.
Generated puzzles and Trivia
Puzzles and quizzes are provided for entertainment. Our engines check supported puzzle inputs, moves and solvability, but generated wording, clues or answers can still be imperfect or ambiguous. Trivia evidence checking confirms that a supplied passage appears on its source page; it does not independently prove the meaning or correctness of every authored question. Check the cited source when accuracy matters.
Public source pages are operated by their respective publishers. We do not control their content, availability or terms. A link or citation does not imply that a publisher endorses Winters Puzzles.
Temporary progress and availability
Plugin boards, moves and undo history are temporary. Records expire within 24 hours of creation and may be removed sooner because of capacity limits. They do not sync with the Winters iPhone or iPad app. The service is not a permanent backup, and an expired board may require starting a fresh puzzle. Daily and archive puzzles are available only when published.
We may maintain or change the supported games and service. Network failures, maintenance or platform changes can interrupt play. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent puzzle storage or that every generated puzzle will suit a particular purpose.
Payments and third-party accounts
The current plugin has no checkout, paid-hint purchase or subscription-upgrade tools. It does not ask for your payment card or a Winters account. Any charge or subscription for ChatGPT is handled separately by OpenAI under its own terms.
Our materials and your rights
Winters Puzzles branding, artwork, software and other service materials belong to their respective owners. Access to the plugin lets you use its supported puzzle features; it does not transfer ownership of those materials. Nothing in these terms removes rights or protections that the law gives you and that cannot be excluded or limited.
Updates to these terms
The effective date above identifies the current terms. If the service or its data practices change, we will update the relevant information here and in the privacy policy. Contact us if you have a question about a change or a problem with a puzzle.
